Ultrahund “True-Fit” Buckle Collar Sizing
The Ultrahund collar is a “true-fit” collar. Each Ultrahund buckle collar has five sizing holes. Collar size is based on the length
from the center hole (3rd hole) of the collar to buckle prong.
What does this mean?
It means that simply by measuring the circumference of your dog’s neck, you can select the correct size Ultrahund buckle collar.
As an example, if the circumference of your dog’s neck is 18 inches, you would select the Ultrahund 18 inch collar. The 18 inch collar will fit a dog whose neck size is between 16 inches and 20 inches because the first of the five holes is located 16 inches from the buckle prong and the last hole of the five holes is located 20 inches from the buckle prong. There is one inch spacing between each of the five holes on every 1 inch wide buckle collar. See sample diagram of the Ultrahund 18 inch collar below:
Similarly, using the 3/4 inch wide collar, if your dog’s neck circumference is 14 inches, you would select the Ultrahund 14 inch collar. On the 3/4 inch wide collar, the five holes are 3/4 inches apart. This means that the 14 inch collar will fit a dog whose neck size is between 12-1/2 inches to 15-1/2 inches. At 14 inches, the buckle prong would protrude through the center hole. See sample diagram of the Ultrahund 14 inch collar below:
Other Import Sizing Considerations
All Ultrahund buckle collars are made with a PVC outer coating and an imbedded nylon mesh, stitched (not riveted) at all stress points. This provides a soft (leather-like) feel, yet exceedingly strong design. However, careful consideration must be made with regard to your dogs breed, weight and temperament before selecting the right collar for your dog. The 3/4 inch wide collars use a 1.5 mm thick substrate material and comes in standard 10”, 12” 14” and 16” “true-fit” lengths. The 3/4 inch wide collars are generally applicable for dogs weighing 30 pounds or less.
The 1 inch wide collars use a 2.5 mm thick substrate and come in standard 18”, 20”, 22” and 24” “true-fit” lengths. The 1 inch
wide collars are generally applicable for dogs weighing 25 pound to 80 pounds. However, care must be taken to ensure the collar
chosen is right for your dog. The neck size should not be your only consideration. Dog strength, breed, pull and temperament
